Richland Center, WI: Richland County Health Officer Rose Kohout confirms the sixth COVID-related death of a Richland County resident. Richland County offers their heartfelt sympathies to the family, and out of respect for the individual’s confidentiality and the privacy of the resident’s family, no additional information will be provided. Kohout reports that as of 2:00pm Tuesday, October 13th there are now 329 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Richland County, 6,239 have tested negative, there are 159 active cases, and 164 individuals who had tested positive have been released from quarantine. Of those 329 individuals who tested positive, 323 individuals have been recovering at home, 14 have been hospitalized at some point, and there are now 6 COVID-19 related deaths.
Richland County Public Health continues to work with state and local partners, as well as health care providers, to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and to help protect the health and safety of Richland County residents. The public should follow steps to avoid getting sick including:
- Stay 6 feet from others;
- Avoid social gatherings with people of all ages;
- Frequent and thorough hand washing with soap and water;
- Use of hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available;
- Wear a mask;
- Covering coughs and sneezes (into the sleeve or elbow);
- Regularly clean high-touch surfaces;
- Do not shake hands;
- Avoid touching your face; and
- Stay home.
