Information

Health and Human Services and the Community Services Building are open to the public. Office and lobby services are available to all individuals. It is required that individuals coming into the building wear masks. The Community Services Building has been modified to allow for social distancing, many chairs have been removed from the lobby and conference rooms, additional sanitizing and safeguards have been put in place, and staff will be wearing masks when interacting with the public and at times behind Plexiglas barriers. Many services may continue to be provided via telephone, video-chat, telehealth, and in-person meetings in the community when appropriate. Clients and members of the public may continue to call 608-647-8821 for assistance and inquiries.

Health and Human Services continues to recommend social distancing, masking, and practicing excellent personal hygiene to minimize the exposure and spread of the COVID-19 virus in order to keep our staff, clients, and members of the community safe.

Aging & Disability Resource Center

The ADRC will provide services in the following manner: Information and Assistance Services will be available through phone contact, virtual contact, appointments, limited home visits, scheduled appointments, and walk-ins. Disability Benefit Specialist and Elder Benefit Specialist services will be available via phone, virtual options, and by appointment. Transportation services will be available by phone. While we are resuming in person meetings we continue to recommend individuals call first to set up an appointment or an alternative way of meeting. Social distancing and masks will be required in the building and for all in person meetings.

Adult Protective Services

To make a report of abuse, neglect, self-neglect, or exploitation of an adult at risk or elder adult at risk call 608-647-8821 during office hours or 888-552-6642 afterhours. Walk in reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation may be made during office hours.

Behavioral Health

Behavioral Health appointments may be requested by calling 608-647-8821 or by coming into the office during office hours.

For mental health crisis services, call 888-552-6642 to speak with a crisis professional.

Child & Youth Services

Child and Youth Services has continued to provide in person services on a limited basis. We continue to assess for the needs of families on a case by case basis and utilize safeguards when conducting in person contacts and home visits. Phone calls and virtual visits will still be utilized to provide services and supports to children, youth and families as an alternative or supplement to in person contacts. To make a report of abuse, neglect, or a child welfare concern, call 608-647-8821 during office hours and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department at 608-647-2106 afterhours.

Economic Support Services

For assistance with FoodShare, Health Care, or Child Care benefits, you can apply by using the ACCESS website: www.access.wisconsin.gov, by calling 888-794-5556 Monday through Wednesday and Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Thursday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, or by stopping by Richland County Health and Human Services in person, Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM to complete a paper application. Documents may be mailed to 221 West Seminary Street, Richland Center, WI 53581, placed in the drop box near the front entrance, or dropped off with reception, Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM. Documents can also be faxed to 888-293-1822. If you are homeless and need to pick up your Quest Card or MA Card, you can call 608-647-8821 ahead of time to see if you have any before stopping by during normal business hours. If you are approved and eligible for a Vault Card for Foodshare, call 608-647-8821 to schedule an appointment to receive it.

For Energy Assistance, call 608-647-8821 Option 4 to speak to someone about the application process or by stopping by Richland County Health and Human Services in person for assistance.

Nutrition Services

The senior meal sites have been closed until further notice.  Home-delivered meals will continue as scheduled and can be offered as an option for those in need.  Requests for home-delivered meals can be made by calling the Senior Nutrition Program at 608-649-5937

Public Health Services

Due to the public health emergency, some services have been scaled back or suspended.  TB tests and childhood immunizations are being provided by appointment only at this time.  Please call 608-647-8821 and ask for a Public Health Nurse if you would like to schedule a date and time for these services.  For all other services related to public health, individuals may call the office at 608-647-8821 for further information.
